Get ready to play!

Join us for the 8th season of
Sunday Parkland Games!

The Sunday Parkland Games provides individuals and families the opportunity to get outside and be active in the Charles River parklands. Since 2009, the Charles River Conservancy (CRC), in partnership with the MA Department of Conservation and Recreation, has offered free games on summer Sunday afternoons.

GAMES: People of all ages and abilities are able to participate in over 25 free games and activities that are set up and facilitated by our partner, Knucklebones, a local athletic and events company. They provide equipment and instruction for a variety of games— including paddle ball, parachute, corn hole, and frisbee. An agility cube, hula hoops, ladderball and potato sacks are also among the many offerings. The game equipment is sized for children as young as 3 through adults.

YOGA: From 5pm to 6pm, Cambridge-based Karma Yoga Studio conducts a one-hour yoga class, allowing both devoted practitioners and novices the opportunity to relax and stretch by the water.

The Sunday Parkland Games are scheduled in the afternoon (3:30-6:00 pm), late June through September. After getting off to a fun start for the first half of summer in North Point Park in East Cambridge, the Sunday Parkland Games move upriver to Herter Park in Allston for August and September. See specific dates below. We will be located near Charles River Canoe and Kayak, a short walk downstream from the Artesani spray deck and playground.

The Conservancy strives to provide recreational and play activities where community members can enjoy the river and the parklands in healthy, active, and innovative ways. All activities are free of charge and the program does not require registration – anyone can attend, and all are welcome to participate.

Please note: The Sunday Parkland Games are weather dependent, so be sure to check our Facebook page each Sunday for confirmation of whether or not the games will be held.

Note: The games will not be held on the weekends of September 4th and 11th.
